Deputy Speaker
Hon. Jameka Williams represents a new generation of leadership in the continuing evolution of Ministerial Government in the Turks and Caicos Islands, leadership shaped by lived experience, public service, and an unwavering commitment to the people.
She was born on October 26, 1981, on the island of Grand Turk. At just two weeks old, she was sent to South Caicos, where she was raised by her aunt and grandparents, and completed her secondary education. This early movement between islands instilled in her a deep appreciation for family, resilience, and the shared national identity that binds the Turks and Caicos Islands together.
Hon. Williams is the proud mother of four children, whom she consistently describes as her greatest accomplishment and the driving force behind her public service. Her experience as a mother has profoundly shaped her advocacy for families, women, and policies that protect future generations.
She pursued tertiary education at Johnson and Wales University, earning degrees in Hospitality Management and Human Resources. Her professional career is grounded in Human Resources, where she served as Human Resource Manager for several major hotel chains throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands. In these roles, she became a strong advocate for workforce development, fairness in employment practices, and greater opportunities for Turks and Caicos Islanders within the private sector.
An entrepreneur as well as a public servant, Hon. Williams is the owner and operator of Chilli’s Takeout and Catering, a locally owned business that reflects her belief in self reliance, community investment, and the importance of supporting local enterprise.
Her formal entry into national leadership came on March 1, 2021, following a historic general election victory for the Progressive National Party, when she was appointed as a Government’s Appointed Member to serve in the House of Assembly. In that role, she quickly distinguished herself as a principled and outspoken advocate for civil servants, women, and ordinary citizens, particularly those whose voices are often unheard.
In 2025, Hon. Jameka Williams further cemented her place in the democratic history of the Turks and Caicos Islands when she was elected as the 6th All, Island Member, earning a national mandate from the people. This milestone marked a significant progression from appointed service to direct electoral representation and underscored the confidence placed in her leadership by voters across the country.
Throughout her parliamentary career, Hon. Williams has been recognized for her courage in addressing difficult issues, her steadfast defense of public servants and national institutions, and her belief that Ministerial Government must always function in the interest of the people it serves.
As the Turks and Caicos Islands commemorates 50 years of Ministerial Government, Hon. Jameka Williams stands as both a steward of the democratic legacy built by those who came before, and a champion of renewal, committed to inclusive leadership, national empowerment, and meaningful progress.
Her mission remains clear and resolute, to be a voice for the voiceless and to make lasting contributions to her beloved Turks and Caicos Islands.
